ConstructEng Australia are partnering with a leading engineering firm to recruit a Director of Structural Engineering - Sydney CBD.

The opportunity:

We are seeking applications from talented structural engineering leaders with interests in designing, assessing, and analysing building structures for a variety of sectors such as commercial, transport, residential, education etc. You should have a strong interest in, and/or demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Structural engineering design for large scale building projects.
• Managing teams of engineers to deliver complex structural solutions within budget and schedule.
• Managing client expectations to deliver high quality, economical and constructable design outcomes.
• Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to find the best holistic solutions to project demands.
• Ability to inspire and mentor structural engineers and technicians within your team.

This position will be based in the Sydney CBD office and offers hybrid work conditions. and will support the delivery of numerous large scale complex projects, with regular client liaison, business development, and provision of mentoring and career development for team members being key components of this role.

About you

• Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Master of Science or Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering.
• 5+ years of project management experience, delivering major projects with demonstrated multi-disciplinary coordination, within time and budget.
• Achieved RSES, CPEng, or pursuing professional qualification.
• Proven experience managing people and mentoring junior members of staff.
• Strong understanding of structural dynamics and first principles.
• Ability to design in steel, concrete and masonry from concept to detailed design.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in technical report writing and delivering technical presentations, with the ability to communicate and engage with non-technical audiences.
• Ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.
• Demonstrates effective quality management strategies to maintain an ongoing standard of excellence.
• Australian Citizenship preferred.
